Prohibiting Nabidh Preparation

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) forbade preparing nabidh in a gourd or in a jug smeared with pitch.

Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi from Abdullah ibn Umar that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, addressed the people in one of his raids. Abdullah ibn Umar said, "I went towards him, but he finished before I reached him. I asked about what he had said. Someone said to me, 'He forbade preparing nabidh in a gourd or in a jug smeared with pitch'."

EXPLANATIONS:
In this hadith, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is teaching us about the importance of following Islamic laws and regulations. He was addressing people during one of his raids and forbade them from preparing nabidh in a gourd or jug smeared with pitch. Nabidh is an alcoholic beverage made by soaking dates or raisins in water for several days until it ferments. This hadith teaches us that we should not do anything that goes against Islamic teachings even if it seems harmless. We should always strive to follow the rules set out by Allah and His Messenger ﷺ so that we can be rewarded for our good deeds on the Day of Judgment.
