Flood of Rain Around the Ka'ba in Pre-Islamic Times

SUMMARY: This hadith is about a flood of rain that filled the valley between two mountains around the Ka'ba in pre-Islamic times.

Narrated Sa'id bin Al-Musaiyab's grand-father: In the pre-lslamic period of ignorance a flood of rain came and filled the valley in between the two mountains (around the Ka'ba).
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ كَانَ عَمْرٌو يَقُولُ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ الْمُسَيَّبِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، قَالَ جَاءَ سَيْلٌ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَكَسَا مَا بَيْنَ الْجَبَلَيْنِ‏.‏ قَالَ سُفْيَانُ وَيَقُولُ إِنَّ هَذَا لَحَدِيثٌ لَهُ شَأْنٌ‏.‏
