Take responsibility for your actions; be mindful of how your negligence can cause harm or inconvenience others; be considerate towards other people's property; take precautions against potential damages caused by your own possessions/animals etc..

This hadith is about responsibility and liability when it comes to property damage. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ gave a judgement that if an animal belonging to someone causes damage to another person's property, then during the day, it is up to those who are responsible for guarding that property to make sure no damage occurs. However, at night, it is up to the owner of those animals who caused the damage as they should have taken precautions against such an occurrence.
