Sharing Fruits with Non-Muslims

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) confirmed the Jews of Khaybar in their land, provided that the fruits were divided between them and the Muslims.

Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab from Said ibn al- Musayyab that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said to the jews of Khaybar on the day of the conquest of Khaybar, "I confirm you in it as long as Allah, the Mighty, the Majestic, establishes you in it, provided that the fruits are divided between us and you". Said continued, "The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, used to send Abdullah ibn Rawaha, to assess the division of the fruit crop between him and them, and he would say, 'If you wish, you can buy it back, and if you wish, it is mine'. They would take it".

QUICK LESSONS:
Be kind and generous towards others regardless of differences; Share resources equally; Respect others' beliefs; Treat people differently than you kindly; Allow people who are different than you to stay in their homes if possible; Divide resources fairly among those who need it most .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about how Prophet Muhammad PBUH treated non-muslims with kindness and generosity. He allowed them to stay in their land, Khaybar, as long as they shared the fruits of their land with him and his followers. This shows us that even though we may have different beliefs or opinions, we should still be kind to one another and share what we have with each other. We can learn a lot from this hadith about how to treat people who are different than us - with respect and kindness. We should also remember that it is important to share what we have so everyone can benefit from it equally.
