Delayed Terms in Trade Transactions

SUMMARY: It is forbidden to sell wheat for gold on delayed terms and then buy dried dates with the gold before taking delivery of the gold.

Yahya related to me from Malik that Abu'z-Zinad heard Sa'id ibn al-Musayyab andSulayman ibn Yasar forbid a man to sell wheat for gold on delayed terms and then to buy dried dates with the gold before he had taken delivery of the gold.

QUICK LESSONS:
Follow ethical practices when conducting business transactions

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us about trade transactions and how they should be conducted. It is forbidden to sell wheat for gold on delayed terms and then buy dried dates with the gold before taking delivery of the gold. This means that one should not make a transaction where they are selling something for money but do not receive that money until later. Instead, they use that money to purchase something else before receiving it. This type of transaction is considered unethical as it can lead to financial losses or other issues if either party does not fulfill their end of the agreement. The hadith also teaches us about being honest in our dealings with others and making sure we are following ethical practices when conducting business transactions.
