(Book 30, Hadith 3) #36328
Permission for Relatives

SUMMARY: The hadith is about A'isha refusing to give permission to her paternal uncle, Aflah, to enter her house. When the Prophet Muhammad heard of this, he ordered A'isha to give him permission.

Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab from Urwa ibn az- Zubayr that A'isha umm al-muminin told him that Aflah, the brother of Abu'l-Quays came and asked permission to visit her after the veil had been lowered, and he was her paternal uncle by suckling. She said, "I refused to give him permission to enter. When the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, came, I told him about what I had done, and he ordered me to give him permission to enter".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith highlights the importance of respecting and obeying one's relatives. It is narrated that A’isha refused to allow her paternal uncle, Aflah, into her house after the veil was lowered. However, when Prophet Muhammad heard of this he ordered A’isha to grant him permission as a sign of respect and obedience towards one's relatives. This hadith teaches us that we should always show respect and kindness towards our family members regardless of their age or gender as it is an important part of Islamic teachings. We should also obey our parents and elders in order for us to be rewarded in both worlds - this world and hereafter - by Allah Almighty.
