Appreciating Good Deeds and Forgiving Wrong Doings

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) advised to accept the good deeds of the Ansar and to excuse their wrong doings.

Narrated Anas bin Malik: The Prophet said, "The Ansar are my near companions to whom I confided my private secrets, People will go on increasing but the Ansar will go on decreasing; so accept the good of the good-doers amongst them and excuse the wrong-doers amongst them".
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا غُنْدَرٌ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ قَالَ ‏ "‏ الأَنْصَارُ كَرِشِي وَعَيْبَتِي، وَالنَّاسُ سَيَكْثُرُونَ وَيَقِلُّونَ، فَاقْبَلُوا مِنْ مُحْسِنِهِمْ، وَتَجَاوَزُوا عَنْ مُسِيئِهِمْ

In this hadith, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is advising us to appreciate and accept the good deeds of people around us. He also advises us to forgive any wrong doings that they may have done. This hadith teaches us that we should be kind and forgiving towards others even if they have made mistakes in the past. We should not judge them for their mistakes but instead focus on their positive qualities and appreciate them for it. This hadith also encourages us to be generous with our forgiveness as it is a sign of strength rather than weakness.
