Divorce and Rebuke

SUMMARY: Abdullah ibn Umar rebuked his wife for moving out after he divorced her irrevocably.

Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi that the daughter of Said ibn Zayd ibn Amr ibn Nufayl was the wife of Abdullah ibn Umar ibn Uthman ibn Affan, and he divorced her irrevocably and she moved out. Abdullah ibn Umar rebuked her for that.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of marriage and how it should be respected even in times of divorce. Abdullah ibn Umar was married to a woman who he divorced irrevocably. After she moved out, he rebuked her for doing so. This shows that even though the marriage has ended, respect should still be maintained between both parties involved in the marriage. It also teaches us that divorce should not be taken lightly as it can have serious consequences on both parties involved in the marriage. Furthermore, this hadith also serves as a reminder to couples that they must always strive to maintain respect and understanding between each other even if their relationship has come to an end.
