Inviting the Rich and Excluding the Poor

SUMMARY: It is wrong to invite only the rich to a wedding feast and exclude the poor. Rejecting an invitation is considered rebellion against Allah and His Messenger.

Yahya related to me from Malik from ibn. Shihab from al-Araj that Abu Hurayra said, "The worst food is the food of a wedding feast to which the rich are invited and the poor are left out. If anyone rejects an invitation, he has rebelled against Allah and His Messenger".

QUICK LESSONS:
Include everyone regardless of their financial status when inviting them for a celebration; Respect others; Show equality among people; Accept invitations if possible; Do not reject an invitation out of disrespect for Allah and His Messenger

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us that it is wrong to invite only those who are wealthy or well off to a wedding feast while excluding those who are poor or less fortunate. This act of exclusion goes against Allah's teachings as it creates divisions between people based on their wealth status. Furthermore, rejecting an invitation is considered rebellion against Allah and His Messenger as it shows disrespect for them both. We should strive to be inclusive in our celebrations by inviting everyone regardless of their financial status so that no one feels left out or excluded due to their lack of wealth or resources.
