Sahih al-Bukhari 3787 (Book 63, Hadith 12) #3615
Invoking Allah for Ansar Status

SUMMARY: The Annwar asked the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) to invoke Allah so that their followers could be considered as Ansar too.

Narrated Zaid bin Al-Arqam: The Annwar said, "O Allah's Messenger ! Every prophet has his own followers and we have followed you. So will you invoke Allah to let our followers be considered from us (as Ansar too)?" So he invoked Allah accordingly.

QUICK LESSONS:
Help others in need; Provide support whenever possible; Ask God for help in times of difficulty or hardship
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Annwar asking the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ to invoke Allah so that their followers could be considered as Ansar too. The term ‘Ansar’ refers to those who helped and supported the Prophet ﷺ when he migrated from Makkah to Madinah. It was a difficult journey and they provided him with shelter and protection. In this hadith, we learn that it is important for us to help others in need and provide them with support whenever possible. We should also ask God for help in times of difficulty or hardship. Furthermore, we can see how much respect and reverence people had for the Prophet ﷺ as they asked him to make supplications on their behalf instead of directly asking God themselves.
