Charity through Hair Weighing

SUMMARY: Fatima, the daughter of the Prophet Muhammad, weighed the hair of her sons Hasan and Husayn and gave away an equivalent weight in silver as charity.

Yahya related to me from Malik from Rabia ibn Abi Abd ar-Rahman that Muhammad ibn Ali ibn al-Husayn said, "Fatima, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, weighed the hair of Hasan and Husayn, and gave away in sadaqa the equivalent weight in silver".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks to the importance of charity in Islam. It tells us that even something as small as a person's hair can be used to give back to those who are less fortunate. Fatima bint Muhammad was a great example for us all when she weighed her sons' hair and gave away an equivalent weight in silver for charity. This teaches us that no matter how small or insignificant something may seem, it can still be used to help others if we put our minds to it. Furthermore, this hadith also shows us how important it is for Muslims to give back and help those who are less fortunate than them.
