Throwing Away Dead Animals

SUMMARY: Abdullah ibn Umar threw away two birds that were killed by a stone thrown by Nafi.

ahya related to me from Malik that Nafi said, "I was at al-Juruf (near Madina) and threw a stone at two birds, and hit them. One of them died, and Abdullah ibn Umar threw it away, and then went to slaughter the other one with an adze. It died before he could slaughter it, so Abdullah threw that one away as well".

QUICK LESSONS:
Respect for animals, Be mindful in killing according to Islamic law .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of not consuming animals that have been killed in an unnatural way, such as being hit with a stone. Abdullah ibn Umar was an example of this when he threw away two birds that were killed by a stone thrown by Nafi. This hadith teaches us to be mindful of how we kill animals and not consume them if they are not slaughtered properly according to Islamic law. It also teaches us to be respectful and compassionate towards animals, even if they are dead, as Abdullah ibn Umar showed when he threw away the two birds instead of consuming them or leaving them on the ground.
