Conditions and Cutting Plants in Hajj

SUMMARY: Making a condition in the Hajj that one can leave Ihram at any place is not allowed and cutting plants from the Haram for a mount is also not allowed.

Yahya related to me from Malik that he asked Ibn Shihab about making a condition in the hajj that one could leave ihram at any place where an obstacle befell one and he said, "Does anyone do that?' and disapproved of it. Malik was asked whether a man could cut plants from the Haram for his mount, and he said, "No".

QUICK LESSONS:
Follow all rules & regulations while performing religious duties as prescribed by Allah

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith discussed here talks about two important aspects of performing the pilgrimage of Hajj. Firstly, it is forbidden to make any conditions while entering into Ihram which means that one cannot decide to leave it at any place where an obstacle befalls them. Secondly, it is also forbidden to cut plants from the Haram which are sacred precincts around Makkah and Medina. This hadith teaches us that we should follow all rules and regulations while performing our religious duties as Allah has prescribed them for us. We should not try to find loopholes or make exceptions as this will lead us astray from our path of righteousness.
