The Excellence of Prayer on Arafa Day

SUMMARY: The most excellent prayer is the prayer on the Day of Arafa and the best thing said by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and prophets before him is "There is no god but Allah, alone, without partner."

Yahya related to me from Malik from Zihad ibn Abi Ziyad the mawla of Abdullah ibn Ayyash ibn Abi Rabia from Talha ibn Ubaydullah ibn Kariyz that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "The most excellent dua is the dua on the Day of Arafa, and the best of what I and the prophets before me have said, is 'There is no god but Allah, alone, without partner'."

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the excellence of prayer on the day of Arafa. It was narrated by Yahya from Malik from Zihad ibn Abi Ziyad that Prophet Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said that “The most excellent dua is the dua on the Day of Arafa”. This means that praying to God on this day has a special significance as it brings one closer to Him. Furthermore, he also mentioned that “the best of what I and prophets before me have said” was “There is no god but Allah, alone without partner” which emphasizes His Oneness and greatness in comparison to all other gods or deities. Therefore this hadith teaches us about how important it is to pray sincerely with full faith in God's Oneness for our prayers to be accepted by Him.
