Sahih al-Bukhari 3773 (Book 62, Hadith 118) #3601
Revelation of Verse of Tayammum

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the revelation of the verse of Tayammum, which is a form of ablution done with sand or dust when water is not available.

Narrated 'Aisha: That she borrowed a necklace from Asma' and it was lost. Allah's Messenger sent some of his companions to look for it. During their journey the time of prayer was due and they prayed without ablution. When they returned to the Prophet they complained about it. So the Divine Verse of Tayammum was revealed. Usaid bin Hudair said (to 'Aisha), "May Allah reward you handsomely. By Allah, whenever you have a difficulty, Allah took you out of it and brought with it, a Blessing for the Muslims".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith tells us about a situation where some companions were on a journey and they lost something that belonged to Aisha. When they returned, they told Prophet Muhammad ﷺ that they could not perform ablution before prayer due to lack of water. As a result, Allah revealed the verse for tayammum which allows Muslims to perform ablution with sand or dust in such situations. Usaid bin Hudair praised Aisha for her difficulty being turned into blessing for all Muslims. This hadith teaches us that even in difficult times, Allah will provide us with solutions and blessings if we remain patient and trust Him. It also shows us how important it is to be grateful for all the blessings we receive from Allah no matter how small it may seem at first glance.
