The Superiority of Aisha and Tharid

SUMMARY: The superiority of Aisha over other women is compared to the superiority of Tharid over other meals.

Narrated Anas bin Malik: Allah's Messenger said, "The superiority of 'Aisha over other women is like the superiority of Tharid to other meals".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the superiority of Aisha, one of the wives of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, over other women. It also speaks about the superiority of a dish called Tharid over other meals. This dish is made up from bread and meat or broth and it was a favorite meal for Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. The hadith implies that just like how this dish is superior to others, similarly Aisha was superior in her qualities to all other women. This hadith teaches us that we should strive to be better than others in our qualities and actions so that we can be an example for others to follow. We should also appreciate those who are better than us in any aspect as they can help us become better ourselves by following their example.
