Praying Two Rakahs at Mina

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad, Abu Bakr, Umar ibn al-Khattab and Uthman all prayed four raka prayers with only two rakahs at Mina.

Yahya related to me from Malik from Hisham ibn Urwa from his father that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, prayed four raka prayers with only two rakahs when at Mina, and that Abu Bakr prayed them at Mina with only two rakas, and that Umar ibn al-Khattab prayed them at Mina with only two rakas, and that Uthman prayed them at Mina with only two rakahs for half of his khalifate, and then later completed them.

It also teaches us that we should follow the example of our leaders and strive to emulate their practices in our own lives. We can learn from this hadith that prayer is an important part of a Muslim's life and should be taken seriously even if we are not able to perform it perfectly every time.
