Places of Sacrifice in Islam

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) declared Mina and Marwa as places of sacrifice, and all the pathways of Makka and its roads as a place of sacrifice.

Yahya related to me from Malik that he had heard that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said once at Mina, "This place (where I have just sacrificed), and the whole of Mina, is a place of sacrifice," and he said once during umra, "This place of sacrifice" meaning Marwa, "and all the pathways of Makka and its roads are a place of sacrifice".

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ declared two places - Mina and Marwa - as places of sacrifice. He also declared all the pathways leading to Makka and its roads as a place of sacrifice. This hadith teaches us that Muslims should be mindful when they are travelling to sacred sites such as Makka or performing Hajj or Umrah. They should remember that these sites are holy places where Allah is worshipped so they must show respect by not engaging in any activities that would be considered disrespectful or inappropriate. Furthermore, this hadith reminds us that we should always strive to make our journeys meaningful by dedicating them for the sake of Allah's pleasure.
