EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about a warning given by Muawiya to the people against offering a prayer which was not seen or practiced by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. It is narrated that Humran bin Aban reported that Muawiya said to the people, "You offer a prayer which we, who were companions of the Prophet ﷺ never saw him offering, and he forbade its offering," meaning two rak'at after 'Asr prayer. This hadith teaches us that it is important to follow in the footsteps of our beloved prophet and practice only what he taught us. We should be careful not to add any extra prayers or rituals as they may be prohibited and can lead us astray from following his teachings. We should also take care to ensure that our children are aware of this so they can grow up with an understanding of how important it is for them to follow in his footsteps.
