Sahih al-Bukhari 3763 (Book 62, Hadith 108) #3591
Visiting the Prophet's House

SUMMARY: Abdullah bin Mas'ud was considered to be a part of the Prophet's family because he and his mother were often seen visiting the Prophet's house.

Narrated Abu Musa Al-Ash'ari: My brother and I came from Yemen, and for some time we continued to consider 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud as one of the members of the family of the Prophet because we used to see him and his mother going in the house of the Prophet very often.

QUICK LESSONS:
Visit people with respect and kindness

EXPLANATIONS:
Abu Musa Al-Ash'ari and his brother came from Yemen and for some time they thought that Abdullah bin Mas'ud was a part of the family of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ because they used to see him and his mother going in the house of the Prophet ﷺ very often. This hadith teaches us that visiting people is an important act in Islam as it shows respect for them. It also teaches us that we should not judge people based on their appearance or background but rather by their actions. We should also strive to be kind and respectful towards our elders as this is something highly valued in Islam.
