Showing Love for Children

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) showed his love for Al-Hasan by carrying him on his shoulder and praying to Allah to love him too.

Narrated Al-Bara: I saw the Prophet carrying Al-Hasan on his shoulder an saying, "O Allah! I love him, so please love him".
حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَدِيٌّ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الْبَرَاءَ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ وَالْحَسَنُ عَلَى عَاتِقِهِ يَقُولُ ‏ "‏ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أُحِبُّهُ فَأَحِبَّهُ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith shows the importance of showing love and affection towards children. The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) demonstrated this by carrying Al-Hasan on his shoulder and praying to Allah that He loves him too. This teaches us that we should show our children unconditional love, as it is a sign of mercy from Allah. We should also pray for our children, asking Allah to bless them with His mercy and guidance. Furthermore, this hadith encourages us to be patient with our children when they are young, as they will grow up into responsible adults if we nurture them in the right way.
