Making Up Days in Ramadan

SUMMARY: A'isha, the wife of the Prophet, was unable to make up days from Ramadan until Shaban came.

Yahya related to me from Malik from Yahya ibn Said from Abu Salama ibn Abd ar-Rahman that he heard A'isha, the wife of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say, "I used to have to make up days from Ramadan and not be able to do them until Shaban came".

QUICK LESSONS:
Make up for missed days as soon as possible without compromising one's health or wellbeing .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about making up days that were missed during Ramadan. It is narrated by Yahya ibn Said from Abu Salama ibn Abd ar-Rahman who heard it directly from A'isha, the wife of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. The hadith teaches us that if we are unable to fast during Ramadan due to any reason then we should make up for those days as soon as possible and not wait until Shaban comes around. This shows us how important it is for Muslims to fulfill their religious obligations and not delay them unnecessarily. It also teaches us that even though fasting in Ramadan is a great act of worship, it should not be done at any cost and if one cannot fast due to health reasons or other valid reasons then they should make up for those missed days later on when they can do so without compromising their health or wellbeing.
