Fasting Without Breaking the Fast

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) forbade fasting for two days or more without breaking the fast in between, and explained that he was not like other people as he was fed and given to drink.

Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi from Abdullah ibn Umar that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, forbade fasting for two days or more without breaking the fast in between. They said, "But Messenger of Allah, you practise wisal". He replied, "I am not the same as you. I am fed and given to drink".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about fasting during Ramadan. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) forbade fasting for two days or more without breaking the fast in between. He explained that he was not like other people as he was fed and given to drink. This means that it is important to break your fast during Ramadan if you are going to be fasting for multiple days in a row. It is also important to remember that we should not compare ourselves with the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). We should strive to follow his example but understand that we are all different and have different needs when it comes to our religious practices.
