The Benefits of Breaking Fast Quickly

SUMMARY: People will remain in good as long as they are quick to break the fast.

Yahya related to me from Malik from Abd ar-Rahman ibn Harmala al- Aslami from Said ibn al-Musayyab that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "People will remain in good as long as they are quick to break the fast".
وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ حَرْمَلَةَ الأَسْلَمِيِّ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ ‏ "‏ لاَ يَزَالُ النَّاسُ بِخَيْرٍ مَا عَجَّلُوا الْفِطْرَ

It also reminds us that fasting is not just about abstaining from food but also being mindful and conscious about how we act during this period. By breaking our fast quickly, we are showing respect for the blessings that Allah has given us by allowing us to partake in this blessed month of Ramadan.
