Give generously without expecting anything in return; Donate without any conditions attached; Be grateful towards God's blessings; Help others who are less fortunate than us; Spend money on things which will benefit us both here and hereafter; Make sure our donations reach those who need them most etc..

This hadith speaks about the impermissibility of taking back gifts given in the way of Allah. Umar ibn al-Khattab gave a horse to someone for travelling in the way of Allah but then he wished to buy it back. He asked Prophet Muhammad ﷺ about it and he said that it is not permissible to take back sadaqa or gifts given in the way of Allah. This hadith teaches us that when we give something away for charity or as a gift, we should not expect anything in return from it and should not try to take it back later on. We should be generous with our donations and give them away without any expectations or conditions attached with them so that we can gain rewards from our Lord Almighty for our good deeds.
