Wishing for Another's Place

SUMMARY: The Hour of Judgement will not come until people wish to be in the place of others who have passed away.

Yahya related to me from Malik from Abu'z Zinad from al-Araj from Abu Hurayra that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "The Hour will not come until a man passes by the grave of another and says, 'If only I were in his place'. "

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the inevitability of death and the coming of judgement day. It teaches us that no one can escape death and that we should not take our lives for granted. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said that before judgement day comes, people will pass by a grave and wish they were in its place instead. This hadith reminds us to appreciate life while we still have it and to make sure we are prepared for when our time comes. We should strive to live a life full of good deeds so that when judgement day arrives, we can be confident in our standing with Allah SWT.
