Delaying Prayers at Sunrise and Sunset

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) advised to delay the prayer when the sun is rising and setting until it is completely in view.

Yahya related to me from Malik from Hisham ibn Urwa that his father said that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, used to say, "Delay the prayer when the edge of the sun appears until it is completely in view, and delay the prayer when the edge of the sun is disappearing until it has completely disappeared".

QUICK LESSONS:
Delay your prayer when you see a part of sun on horizon
EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught us that when the sun is rising or setting, we should wait until it has completely come into view before we start our prayers. This means that if we can see even a small part of the sun on the horizon then we should wait until it has fully risen or set before beginning our prayers. This teaches us to be patient and mindful of Allah's commands even in something as simple as prayer. It also reminds us to be aware of our surroundings and take note of what time it is so that we can pray at its proper time.
