Prostration During Recitation of Surat al-Hajj

SUMMARY: Abdullah ibn Umar prostrated twice while reciting Surat al-Hajj.

Yahya related to me from Malik that Abdullah ibn Dinar said, "I saw Abdullah ibn Umar prostrate twice in Surat al-Hajj (Sura 22)".
وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ يَسْجُدُ فِي سُورَةِ الْحَجِّ سَجْدَتَيْنِ

This hadith is about the importance of prostrating during recitation of the Qur’an. It was narrated by Yahya and Malik from Abdullah ibn Dinar that he saw Abdullah ibn Umar prostrate twice while reciting Surat al-Hajj. This shows us how important it is to show reverence to Allah when we are reading His words in the Qur’an. We should take our time to reflect on what we are reading and be mindful of our actions as we recite it. We should also remember that Allah is watching us at all times and He knows what is in our hearts so we must strive to be sincere in our worship of Him.
