The Abundance of Allah's Mercy

SUMMARY: Allah's mercy is abundant and no one can withhold it or send it forward.

Yahya related to me from Malik that he had heard that Abu Hurayra used to say, when morning came after it had rained on the people, "We have been rained upon by the rain of Allah's opening," and would then recite the ayat, "Whatever Allah opens to man of His mercy no-one can withhold, and whatever He withholds no-one can send forward after Him". (Sura 35 ayat 2).

QUICK LESSONS:
Be grateful for blessings received from Allah .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks to the abundance of Allah's mercy. It is narrated by Yahya, Malik and Abu Hurayra that when morning came after a rain, Abu Hurayra would recite the ayat from (35:2) Surah 35 ayat 2 which states that whatever Allah opens to man of His mercy no-one can withhold, and whatever He withholds no-one can send forward after Him. This hadith serves as a reminder that we should be grateful for all the blessings we receive from Allah because they are all part of His mercy. We should also remember that even if something is withheld from us, it is only because He knows what is best for us in this life and in the hereafter.
