The Power of Belief in Allah

SUMMARY: This hadith is about the importance of believing in Allah and rejecting superstitions.

Yahya related to me from Malik from Salih ibn Kaysan from Ubaydullah ibn Abdullah ibn Utba ibn Masud that Zayd ibn Khalid al- Juhani said, "The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, took the subh prayer with us at Hudaibiyah after it had rained in the night. When he had finished he went up to the people and said, 'Do you know what your Lord has said?' They said, 'Allah and His Messenger know best'. He said, 'Some of my slaves have begun the morning believing in Me, and others have begun it rejecting Me. As for those who say, 'We were rained on by the overflowing favour of Allah and His mercy,' they believe in Me and reject the stars. But as for those who say, 'We were rained on by such and such a star, they reject Me and believe in the stars'. "

QUICK LESSONS:
Believe in God no matter what happens around you , Be thankful for God's Mercy & Favour , Question any superstitious beliefs before following them blindly .

EXPLANATIONS:
In this hadith, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was teaching his companions about the power of belief in Allah and rejecting superstitions. He asked them if they knew what their Lord had said and when they replied that only Allah and His Messenger know best he told them a story. He said that some people began their morning believing in Him while others rejected Him. Those who believed were thankful for the rain as it was a sign of Allah's overflowing favour and mercy while those who rejected Him attributed it to stars instead. This hadith teaches us to always believe in Allah no matter what happens around us as He is always watching over us with His mercy and favour. We should also reject any superstitious beliefs or practices as these are not true forms of worship or faith but rather false beliefs which can lead us astray from our faith if we follow them blindly without questioning them first.
