Cleanliness and Respect in Prayer

SUMMARY: Abdullah ibn Umar quickly brushed away the small stones from the place where he was going to put his forehead as he was going down into sajda.

Yahya related to me from Malik that Abu Jafar al-Qari said, "I saw Abdullah ibn Umar quickly brush away the small stones from the place where he was going to put his forehead as he was going down into sajda".

TOPICS
prayer  *  cleanliness  *  respect

QUICK LESSONS:
Quickly brush away any small stones before performing sajda; Take time to perform prayers properly; Have respect for your prayer space; Take care not to disturb it with anything unnecessary or unclean; Show reverence for Allah's commands.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of cleanliness and respect when performing prayer. Abdullah ibn Umar was an example of this by quickly brushing away any small stones that were in the place where he was going to put his forehead as he went down into sajda. This shows that even a small act of cleanliness can be important when it comes to prayer. It also shows that we should have respect for our prayer space and take care not to disturb it with anything unnecessary or unclean. We should also take care not to rush through our prayers but rather take time to perform them properly with respect and reverence for Allah's commands.
