Praying with One Garment

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) prayed eight rakahs with one garment.

Yahya related to me from Malik from Musa ibn Maysara from Abu Murra, the mawla of Aqil ibn Abi Talib, that Umm Hani bint Abi Talib told him that in the year of the conquest the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, prayed eight rakahs, covering himself with one garment.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's prayer habits. It is narrated that in the year of the conquest he prayed eight rakahs while covering himself with one garment. This shows us how humble and devoted to his faith he was as he did not need any extra clothing or adornments to show his piety and devotion to Allah. He was content with what he had and used it for worshiping Allah alone. This teaches us that we should be content with what we have and use it for worshiping Allah alone without any distractions or desires for worldly things getting in our way of connecting to Him through prayer and other acts of worship. We should also strive to be humble like the Prophet Muhammad was in all aspects of our lives so that we can become closer to Allah through His mercy and grace.
