QUICK LESSONS:

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about following the example of Ibn Umar. It is narrated by Yahya from Malik from Abd ar-Rahman ibn al-Qasim that al-Qasim ibn Muhammad had done the same as Ibn Umar. This means that it is important to follow in the footsteps of those who have gone before us and set an example for us to follow. We should strive to emulate their good deeds and practices in order to be successful in our own lives. The hadith also teaches us that we should not be afraid to try something new if it has been done successfully by someone else before us.

The values taught by this hadith are humility, respect for others, and perseverance. Humility because we must remember that no matter how much knowledge or experience we may have gained over time, there will always be someone who has gone before us and set an example for us to follow; respect for others because we must recognize their accomplishments and learn from them; and perseverance because even if something seems difficult at first, with enough effort it can be achieved just like those who came before us did so successfully.
