The Rewards of Attending Jumu'ah Prayer

SUMMARY: Doing ghusl for major ritual impurity on the day of jumua and attending the prayer in time is rewarded greatly.

Yahya related to me from Malik from Sumayyah, the mawla of Abu Bakr ibn Abd ar-Rahman, from Abu Salih as-Sammani from Abu Hurayra that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "If someone does ghusl for major ritual impurity on the day of jumua and then goes in the first part of the time, it is as if he had offered up a camel. If he goes in the second part of the time, it is as if he had offered up a cow. If he goes in the third part of the time, it is as if he had offered up a horned ram. If he goes in the fourth part of the time, it is as if he had offered up a hen. If he goes in the fifth part of the time, it is as if he had offered up an egg. And when the imam comes out, the angels settle down listening to the dhikr (remembrance of Allah)".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the rewards one can receive from doing ghusl for major ritual impurity on the day of jumua and attending prayer in time. It is narrated by Yahya from Malik from Sumayyah who was a mawla of Abu Bakr ibn Abd ar-Rahman from Abu Salih as-Sammani from Abu Hurayra that the Messenger of Allah said that if someone does ghusl for major ritual impurity on the day of jumua and then goes in the first part of time it is as if he had offered up a camel. If he goes in second part it is like offering up a cow; third part like offering up a horned ram; fourth part like offering up a hen; fifth part like offering up an egg. When Imam comes out angels settle down listening to dhikr or remembrance to Allah. This hadith teaches us that we should strive to attend our prayers on time so we can reap its rewards which are greater than sacrificing animals such as camels, cows etc., We should also remember that when Imam comes out angels settle down listening to dhikr or remembrance to Allah so we should make sure not to miss any moment during prayer by talking or engaging in other activities instead focusing solely on worshipping God Almighty.
