Performing Ghusl for Major Ritual Impurity

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to perform ghusl for major ritual impurity from a vessel which contained a faraq.

Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab from Urwa ibn az- Zubayr from A'isha, umm al-muminin, that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, used to do ghusl for major ritual impurity from a vessel which contained a faraq.
وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أُمِّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ كَانَ يَغْتَسِلُ مِنْ إِنَاءٍ - هُوَ الْفَرَقُ - مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of performing ghusl for major ritual impurity. According to this hadith, the Prophet Muhammad PBUH used to perform ghusl from a vessel which contained a faraq. Ghusl is an Islamic term referring to the full body ablution required in Islam after certain activities such as sexual intercourse or menstruation. It is also recommended but not required before Jumu'ah prayer or Eid prayer and other occasions such as entering the state of Ihram in Hajj or Umrah. The purpose of performing ghusl is to cleanse oneself spiritually and physically so that one can be closer to Allah SWT and be able to worship Him properly with purity and sincerity.
