SUMMARY: It is not necessary to do wudu after eating cooked food.

Yahya related to me from Malik that he had heard that Ali ibn Abi Talib and Abdullah ibn Abbas did not do wudu after eating cooked food.

QUICK LESSONS:
Wash your hands before you eat and make sure no food remains on your hands or face afterwards .
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith tells us that it is not necessary to do wudu after eating cooked food. This was the opinion of Ali ibn Abi Talib and Abdullah ibn Abbas who were two prominent figures in Islamic history. They believed that it was not necessary to perform wudu after consuming cooked food as long as one has washed their hands before eating and has made sure that no food remains on their hands or face afterwards. This shows us the importance of cleanliness in Islam and how we should always strive to keep ourselves clean even when we are consuming our meals. Furthermore, this hadith also teaches us about moderation in our religious practices; we should only perform those acts which are explicitly mentioned in the Quran or Sunnah without adding any extra rituals or obligations upon ourselves unnecessarily.
