Wudu After Vomiting

SUMMARY: It is not necessary to do wudu after vomiting, but it is recommended to rinse the inside of the mouth and wash it out.

Yahya related to me from Malik that he saw Rabia ibn Abd ar- Rahman vomit several times when he was in the mosque and he did not leave, nor did he do wudu before he prayed. Yahya said that Malik was asked whether a man who vomited food had to do wudu and he said, "He does not have to do wudu, but he should rinse the inside of his mouth and wash his mouth out".

QUICK LESSONS:
Take care of your physical health by cleaning yourself properly after any kind of sickness or impurity. Strive to maintain religious practices as much as possible even when in a state of impurity due to sickness or other reasons.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith discusses the Islamic practice of wudu, which is a ritual washing before prayer. The hadith states that if someone vomits food, they do not need to perform wudu again before praying. However, it is recommended that they rinse their mouth and wash it out afterwards. This teaches us that even though we may be in a state of impurity due to sickness or other reasons, we should still strive to maintain our religious practices as much as possible. We should also take care of our physical health by cleaning ourselves properly after any kind of sickness or impurity.
