The Importance of Proper Wudu

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the importance of performing wudu properly and the consequences of not doing so.

Yahya related to me from Malik that he had heard that Abd ar- Rahman ibn Abi Bakr was visiting A'isha, the wife of the Prophet, may AIIah bless him and grant him peace, on the day that Sad ibn Abi Waqqas died, and he asked for some water to do wudu. A'isha said to him, ''Abd ar-Rahman! Perform your wudu fully, for I heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say, 'Woe to the heels in the fire'. "

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith emphasizes the importance of performing wudu properly. It was narrated by Yahya from Malik that Abd ar-Rahman ibn Abi Bakr was visiting A'isha on the day Sad ibn Abi Waqqas died and asked for some water to do wudu. A'isha reminded him to perform his ablution fully as she heard Prophet Muhammad ﷺ say “Woe to the heels in the fire” which means those who neglect their ablution will be punished in hellfire. This hadith teaches us that we should take our religious obligations seriously and perform them with utmost care and attention as Allah will not accept any negligence or carelessness when it comes to fulfilling our duties towards Him.
