Making Up Prayers After Fainting

SUMMARY: Abdullah ibn Umar fainted and lost his senses, but he was not required to make up the prayer as the time had passed.

Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi that one time Abdullah ibn Umar fainted and lost his senses and he did not make up the prayer. Malik commented, "We consider that that was because, and Allah knows best, the time had passed. Someone who recovers within the time has to pray".

QUICK LESSONS:
Follow religious obligations even when faced with difficult situations such as fainting or losing one's senses during a prayer .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about making up prayers after fainting. Abdullah ibn Umar fainted and lost his senses, but he was not required to make up the prayer as the time had passed. This teaches us that if we faint or lose our senses during a prayer, we do not have to make it up if enough time has passed since then. We should also remember that Allah knows best what is right for us in any situation and He will always guide us in the right direction.
