Sahih al-Bukhari 3663 (Book 62, Hadith 15) #3498
Animals Speaking to Humans

SUMMARY: The hadith is about a shepherd and a man who were surprised when their animals spoke to them, and the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) believed in it.

Narrated Abu Huraira: I heard Allah's Messenger saying, "While a shepherd was amongst his sheep, a wolf attacked them and took away one sheep. When the shepherd chased the wolf, the wolf turned towards him and said, 'Who will be its guard on the day of wild animals when nobody except I will be its shepherd. And while a man was driving a cow with a load on it, it turned towards him and spoke to him saying, 'I have not been created for this purpose, but for ploughing". The people said, "Glorified be Allah". The Prophet said, "But I believe in it and so does Abu Bakr end 'Umar".

QUICK LESSONS:
Believe in Allah's power, Glorify Him no matter what happens around us .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about two people who were surprised when their animals spoke to them. The first person was a shepherd whose sheep was taken away by a wolf, and the wolf asked him who would be its guard on the day of wild animals when nobody except it will be its shepherd. The second person was driving his cow with a load on it, and the cow told him that it has not been created for this purpose but for ploughing instead. When people heard this they glorified Allah, and Prophet Muhammad also believed in these events as did Abu Bakr and Umar. This hadith teaches us that Allah can do anything He wills, even make animals speak like humans if He wishes so. It also shows us how we should always glorify Allah no matter what happens around us because He is capable of doing anything at any time.
