The Most Beloved People to the Prophet (ﷺ)

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) was asked who the most beloved person to him was, and he named 'Aisha, her father, and then other men.

Narrated 'Amr bin Al-As: The Prophet deputed me to read the Army of Dhat-as-Salasil. I came to him and said, "Who is the most beloved person to you?" He said, " 'Aisha". I asked, "Among the men?" He said, "Her father". I said, "Who then?" He said, "Then 'Umar bin Al-Khattab". He then named other men.
حَدَّثَنَا مُعَلَّى بْنُ أَسَدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ الْمُخْتَارِ، قَالَ خَالِدٌ الْحَذَّاءُ حَدَّثَنَا عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْعَاصِ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ بَعَثَهُ عَلَى جَيْشِ ذَاتِ السَّلاَسِلِ، فَأَتَيْتُهُ فَقُلْتُ أَىُّ النَّاسِ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْكَ قَالَ ‏"‏ عَائِشَةُ ‏"‏‏.‏ فَقُلْتُ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ فَقَالَ ‏"‏ أَبُوهَا ‏"‏‏.‏ قُلْتُ ثُمَّ مَنْ قَالَ ‏"‏ ثُمَّ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ ‏"‏‏.‏ فَعَدَّ رِجَالاً‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
In this hadith narrated by 'Amr bin Al-As, it is mentioned that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was asked who his most beloved person was. He answered that his most beloved person is Aisha followed by her father and then other men. This hadith teaches us about the importance of love in Islam as well as how much respect we should have for our parents. It also shows us how much respect we should have for those around us regardless of their gender or age. We can learn from this hadith that love is an important part of our faith and it should be expressed in all aspects of life including towards family members, friends, neighbors etc. Furthermore, it teaches us to show respect towards those around us regardless of their gender or age which is a value taught in Islam.
