Seeking Refuge in Allah's Pleasure

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ used to seek refuge in Allah's pleasure, forgiveness, and protection from His wrath and punishment.

It was narrated from 'Ali (رضي الله عنه) that The Prophet used to say at the end of his Witr".O Allah, I seek refuge in Your pleasure from Your wrath, I seek refuge in Your forgiveness from Your punishment. I seek refuge in You from You, I cannot praise You enough, You are as You have praised Yourself'.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحَجَّاجِ النَّاجِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو الْفَزَارِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ كَانَ يَقُولُ فِي آخِرِ وِتْرِهِ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِرِضَاكَ مِنْ سَخَطِكَ وَمُعَافَاتِكَ مِنْ عُقُوبَتِكَ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْكَ لَا أُحْصِي ثَنَاءً عَلَيْكَ أَنْتَ كَمَا أَثْنَيْتَ عَلَى نَفْسِكَ‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks of the importance of seeking refuge in Allah's pleasure, forgiveness, and protection from His wrath and punishment. It is narrated by 'Ali ibn Abi Talib that The Prophet Muhammad used to say at the end of his Witr prayer "O Allah, I seek refuge in Your pleasure from Your wrath, I seek refuge in Your forgiveness from Your punishment. I seek refuge in You from You, I cannot praise You enough, You are as You have praised Yourself." This hadith emphasizes the importance of seeking protection with Allah through supplication and praising Him for all that He has done for us. It also teaches us to be humble before Him by acknowledging our inability to fully praise Him despite all He has done for us. We should strive to make this supplication part of our daily lives so that we can always be protected under His mercy and guidance.
