Musnad Ahmad 1266 (Book 5, Hadith 672) #34898
Denial of the Return of 'Ali

SUMMARY: The hadith is about how al-Hasan bin 'Ali denied the claim that 'Ali will return, and how his wives and estate were divided as a result.

It was narrated that 'Asim bin Damrah said: I said to al-Hasan bin 'Ali: The Shi'ah claim that 'Ali (رضي الله عنه) will return! He said. Those liars are lying. If we knew that, his wives would not have got married and we would not have divided his estate.

QUICK LESSONS:
Respect for those who have passed away, being careful with our words .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about how al-Hasan bin 'Ali denied the claim that his father, Ali, would return. He said that if they knew this to be true, then his wives would not have gotten married and they would not have divided his estate. This shows us that it was believed by those in the time of al-Hasan bin 'Ali that Ali's return was impossible or unlikely. It also teaches us to be careful with our words and not make claims without evidence or proof. We should also respect those who have passed away by not making false claims about them or their lives after death.
