EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Ali ibn Abi Talib tells us that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught him and his daughter Fatimah a set of phrases to recite before going to bed. These phrases include 33 tasbeehahs, 33 tahmeeds, and 34 takbeerahs. This is known as Salaatul-Layl in Arabic (#??????_???). Ali said that he never omitted this recitation even on the night of Siffin, which was a battle between Ali's army and Muawiyah's army during the time of Uthman's caliphate. This hadith teaches us about the importance of reciting these prayers before going to bed every night as it is an act that pleases Allah SWT. It also shows us how devoted Ali was in following what he learned from his beloved teacher, Prophet Muhammad PBUH, even during difficult times such as war or battle.
