Listening Before Judging

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the importance of listening to both sides before making a judgement.

It was narrated that 'Ali (رضي الله عنه) said: The Messenger of Allah said: "If two men come to you for judgement, do not rule in favour of the first one until you listen to what the other one says, then you will know how to judge". He said: Since then I became a good judge.

QUICK LESSONS:
Listen carefully before judging .
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith emphasizes the importance of listening to both sides before making a judgement. It was narrated by 'Ali ibn Abi Talib that the Prophet Muhammad said, "If two men come to you for judgement, do not rule in favour of the first one until you listen to what the other one says, then you will know how to judge." This means that it is important for judges and those who are responsible for making decisions and judgements in any situation or dispute should always listen carefully and attentively to both parties involved before coming up with a decision. By doing this, they will be able to make an informed decision based on all available evidence and information. Furthermore, this hadith also teaches us that justice should be served fairly without bias or prejudice towards either party involved in a dispute or disagreement.
