Succession of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the order of succession of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his companions, and that Allah will judge any turmoil.

It was narrated that 'Ali (رضي الله عنه) said: The Messenger of Allah came first, Abu Bakr came second and 'Umar came third. Then we got involved in turmoil, and it is up to Allah to judge.
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي هَاشِمِ بْنِ كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ الْخَارِفِيِّ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ سَبَقَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ وَصَلَّى أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَثَلَّثَ عُمَرُ ثُمَّ خَبَطَتْنَا فِتْنَةٌ فَهُوَ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the succession of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). It was narrated by 'Ali ibn Abi Talib that when the Messenger of Allah passed away, Abu Bakr came second and Umar came third in terms of succession. The hadith also mentions that any turmoil or disputes should be left to Allah to judge. This teaches us to respect each other's opinions and not get involved in arguments or fights as it is up to God alone to decide who is right or wrong. We should also remember that we are all equal before God regardless of our positions in society or our differences in opinion.
