War is Deceit

SUMMARY: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ called war deceit.

It was narrated from Sa’eed bin Dhi Huddan: Someone who heard 'Ali (رضي الله عنه) told me that he said: The Messenger of Allah called war deceit.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ ذِي، حُدَّانَ حَدَّثَنِي مَنْ، سَمِعَ عَلِيًّا، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَقُولُ سَمَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ الْحَرْبَ خَدْعَةً‏.‏

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught that war is a form of deceit. It also reminds us that even in times of war, we must still act with integrity and honesty, rather than resorting to deception or trickery.
