Sahih al-Bukhari 3631 (Book 61, Hadith 135) #3467
The Promise of Carpets

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) promised Jabir that he would soon have carpets, and this promise kept Jabir from asking his wife to remove the carpets from his sight.

Narrated Jabir: (Once) the Prophet said, "Have you got carpets?" I replied, "Whence can we get carpets?" He said, "But you shall soon have carpets". I used to say to my wife, "Remove your carpets from my sight," but she would say, "Didn't the Prophet tell you that you would soon have carpets?" So I would give up my request.
