Follow Islamic teachings when performing religious rituals such as sacrificing cows

This hadith discusses the Islamic practice of sacrificing cows for religious purposes. It was narrated by Hujayyah bin 'Adiyy and Salamah bin Kuhail that a man asked Ali about sacrificing a cow on behalf of seven people. Ali said that it was permissible to do so, regardless if the cow was lame or not as long as it could reach the place of sacrifice. He also mentioned that The Messenger of Allah commanded to check its eyes and ears before sacrificing it.
