This hadith discusses a ruling regarding wiping over leather slippers. It was narrated by Shuraih bin Hani that he asked 'Aishah about it and she told him to ask 'Ali bin Abi Talib who used to travel with the Prophet Muhammad. When he asked him, he said that for travelers it is permissible to wipe over their leather slippers for three days and nights while for those who are not traveling it is permissible to wipe over them for one day and night. Yahya said that Shu'bah used to attribute this ruling to the Prophet but then stopped doing so.
